Stories Waiting to Be Read
Rebecca’s Dream That Wasn’t
Rebecca loved to dance. Someday she was going to dance in a theatre with a real stage and velvet curtains wearing beautiful costumes in front of a real audience. The dance studio was her favorite place to be – until one day the teacher told her she would dance the lead part in their upcoming recital of “The Sleeping Beauty”.
This was wonderful terrible news! Wonderful, because it meant that her teacher thought she was dancing well. Terrible, because it meant she would have to dance alone, by herself, on a big stage, which, Rebecca was just discovering, terrified her.
Esmeralda and the Lollipop Tree
Esmeralda and the Lollipop Tree is a heartwarming children’s story that gently teaches the value of sharing, empathy, and friendship.
Esmeralda is a lot like many children—curious, playful, and full of energy. But she struggles with one important thing: thinking about others.
When she discovers a magical lollipop tree, she believes it belongs only to her. But the tree has a lesson to teach—one that changes everything.
Through a simple yet powerful story, children will see how kindness grows, how friendships begin, and how sharing can turn something special into something unforgettable.
“Rebecca’s story is my story. Mrs. Garrett was my teacher. Stage fright is very common for performers of any kind. I hope Rebecca and I can help other little dancers and young performers of all kinds to overcome their fear and just enjoy doing what they love to do.”

Heartfelt Words from Readers
Great book for kids! Whimsical illustrations, easy to understand text, and a wonderful message: if you believe in yourself and overcome your fears, you can achieve your dreams.
Many kids (and adults) struggle with fear of taking the next step, fear of criticism, fear of failure…This book is a fun and colorful way to instill confidence and goal-orientation in children. Wonderful gift for little ballerinas but the message is much wider than dance.
Bottom line: this book is dreamy. This will become a bedtime favorite.

This is a charming and meaningful story that gently teaches an important lesson about sharing and kindness.
Esmeralda is a relatable character for young children, and the idea of a magical lollipop tree makes the message fun and engaging without feeling overly preachy. The story shows, in a simple and clear way, how actions affect others and how positive change can happen. It’s a great conversation starter for parents, teachers, and caregivers who want to talk about generosity and empathy with kids.
The illustrations are bright and inviting, which helps hold children’s attention, and the length is just right for a quick read-aloud. Overall, a thoughtful and enjoyable book for ages 4–8 that delivers a valuable message in a way kids can understand.

I believe the feelings of imperfection and fears of “performing” are in every single child. This book is very relatable, well written, and the author truly captures those gut feelings. I love the main character’s imagination and her way of overcoming her fear.

“Esmeralda and the Lollipop Tree” was originally a puppet show I wrote and performed at preschools. It amazed me that after interacting with the puppets, even the children who had a hard time with sharing were happily participating. The power of a story should never be underestimated.
